@adrian - Rather than the zoom only the 600 has, the 300 shares its ability to just render the text in a bigger font. The 300 is cheaper, and also has a higher contrast screen (no touch layer to cause glare), so it may be more suitable all round. It's physically smaller as well.

As for getting cheaper over all: probably, but I don't expect it to happen too soon. There are much cheaper ones available, but they seem to be pretty poor :(

..read this a while ago and then saw your iPad blog...how much cheaper are these things going to get do you think?

I have had my eye on the Sony for a while but not for me - rachels gran loves to read but book print is too small for her deteriorating eyesight - what is is like to read in zoom all the time? The problem is the cheaper options/makes dont have this and the 600 is a bit pricy

...now if she could get this on the NHS...!

oooh... I wondered what you'd think of this... I picked up a leaflet for it from Waterstones a few weeks ago and wasn't sure that I wouldn't miss the feeling of a new, crisp book in my hand. And the noise of turning pages. And the smell of fresh book. (ok, I am a total nutter, I admit it)
